Day 2: Road to the semi-finals

WOW, what an amazing day! It feels like so much has happened in just one day.
We woke up this morning and went for a long walk in downtown Madrid. Once again we saw some pretty amazing buildings but the best was Parque del Retiro, which was just amazing. It was so big, you can't imagine being in a city. It feels like you're far away in some forest. All very quiet and with some lovely statues and fountains. Really relaxing, especially with the great weather we had. We searched for a nice spot and then spend a lot of time just sitting in the sun and enjoying the beautifull view.

After that we went back to the hotel to eat a bit and to get our banner and stuff. Then it was time to head to the stadia. Both being so exited! We thought it wasn't that far from the metrostation but actually we had to make a pretty long walk, but it was worth it. It was great to finally see Maria play in real life. Although it still feels a little surreal. The first set was a bit weird, sort of unconfortable. But as soon as she started playing better in the second we totally loved it and had a wonderfull time. After the match, when she was playing the signed balls into the crowd she really tried to shot them at us, but too bad ;) it landed a few rows above us.

As we are pretty tired, we'll go to sleep now, to be ready for tomorrow. Another Maria-day ;)
