Maria broke Hantuchova in the third and fifth games to take the first set.

The second seed suddenly lost her concentration and Bartoli took two games before bowing out.

In the semis maria will play Daniela Hantuchova of Slovenia. Maria has p...

Maria Sharapova opened her Qatar Open campaign with an easy 6-1 6-1 victory over Gisela Dulko of Argentina in the second round on Wednesday.

Russian Sharapova, who missed the Paris Open earlier this month due to a respiratory illness, showed no signs of her layoff as she broke Dulko in the second and fourth games to jump to a 4-0 lead.

The Argentine had a chance to break Sharapova in the fifth game of the first set but Dulko failed to seize her opportunity and the second seed...
